Da vinci

Hi Hi!

I don’t know much about paintings but I enjoy looking at some.

Since I read The Da Vinci code by Dan Brown when a was younger I started to care about Da Vinci work such as painting and his research in other areas like engineer and anatomy. I’m not certain that all the things that Dan Brown wrote in the book are true, but I have to admit that Da Vinci’s painting has some mysterious things.

Today I choose a painting by Leonardo Da Vinci called St. John the Baptist.

Is an oil painting on walnut wood. It was finish in 1516, and it is believed to be his last painting. This painting it is now exhibited at the Musée du Louvre in Paris, France. By the way, going to this museum is on my bucket list.

The sign on John’s finger is very disturbing to me. You can see this language in other painting and I don’t really know what does it means. And you can see that Leonardo draw John a little feminine and you may said that his is almost cover his breast  with the cloth.

I saw it for the first time in a art book of Leonardo and I couldn’t take my eyes of the picture, it was so weird in a way.

Well I hope one day to have the opportunity to see all the paintings in the Louvre :).

Hi hi!

I love food! It one of the best things to do and it’s an activity that brings people together to talk and share. I also like to cook.

If I’m going to have take-out food I always prefer sushi. Lately there are lots of places and restaurants of sushi and there are lots of bad ones. I like the sushi bar Too Much.

Is a sushi bar in Providencia, near Tobalaba subway. What I like about this place is that they add the special flavor that the sushi have, which is the vinegar and the sugar, both are the flavors that I search in this cuisine. I also like the decoration and the layout of the restaurant. Is very intimate, they have low lights and tables for 2 or 4 people.

I would also like to try other types of cuisines. The Asian type I find more interesting and it what I had taste the most. Beside the Italian food, I never really ate European food. I don’t know if there is those types of restaurant and I think that they would be expensive. Eat out in a different place is always expensive but in special occasion would be nice.

Mister Fahrenheit.

If I had the opportunity to meet a famous person would be the one and only Mr. Freddie Mercury. I think is one of the best singer in the history, his voice is so beautiful and unique. I can't listen a cover of his songs or Queen songs, just because they don’t have what Freddie brings to the songs.

I would like to ask him about his life and his fight against AIDS. How he confronts this controversial matter in the 80’s. And know where he got all the strength to keep going and doing music.

I think that he has a special style, when he was a solo singer, his music were very different than "Queen" style. It’s very colorful and fun. I love it. The song “living on my own” it’s a clear example of it. 

 

The thing that I like the most about this character is his performance. When he is on stage. He dance, jump and make the audience sing with him.

It would be great if he hadn’t died. I would be able to see him on stage live. He died in the same year that I was born, that is so sad. But I’m glad that I had the opportunity to appreciate his work and specially his voice.
